The best way to think of what is the difference between Perennials and Annuals is, your Perennial flowers are the ones that have a continuing life span year after year. The Annual flowers are the flowers that are typically planted in the spring/summer months.

Your Annual flowers are usually the bright and showy flowers. They bloom for the whole season, and then die. Something to also remember about Perennial flowers is that they remain dormant throughout the winter months but come back.

When Giovanna was a young girl growing up in Italy, her mother would plant Annual and Perennial flowers together in their garden to create a year round sea of colors in their garden.

Remember: Perennials = year round ; Annuals = spring/summer months
